Memorial Day MURPH

Join us Monday - May 29th at 9am or 10am to celebrate the memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy and all those who have died serving our country.

This is a Free Friends and Family Community workout and open to anyone who would like to join us.

We will be accepting donations at this year's event to benefit Pets for Vets.

The Pets for Vets program is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training and pairing them with America’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.

Pets for Vets, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

"Murph"

For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

*Can be performed as a partner workout with partners running together and breaking up the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats.*

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.
