At the bottom of CrossFit’s theoretical hierarchy for the development of an athlete, nutrition sits as the foundation. And fueling your body with the right amount of quality whole foods are the first two sentences of CrossFit’s world class fitness in 100 words. This is how important nutrition to success with your health and wellness.
We are hosting a seminar on Saturday, September 9th at 10:30 am digging into CrossFit’s nutrition protocols.
Head Coach JR Shortall (CCFT/CF-L3) will lead the seminar diving into the prescription, quality, quantity and implementation.
All are welcome to join us and learn!

Pelvic Floor Seminar with Dr. Dina Cooney

Do you leak urine when you exercise or sneeze? What about that belly… does it pooch out during certain movements? Maybe you are pregnant, or just had a baby and your body needs a little TLC to whip it back into shape…

Do you have a bad habit of holding your breath, or you feel like you just can’t coordinate your breathing during work outs?

“Well then let’s get to the bottom of this!” (…pun intended)

Join us Sunday - March 4th @ 10am to discuss pelvic floor health and what you can do to help!

Urinary incontinence affects 2 out of 5 women. We want to work out to stay fit and be healthy, right? But for some, these conditions may be a source of anxiety and cause embarrassment. Where should you start? With your pelvic floor! Come and learn about common symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction and how you can put an end to these conditions.

Some things that will be covered in the seminar:

  • Anatomy of the pelvic floor

  • What is normal?

  • What is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, and the different types?

  • How does all of this relate to CrossFit?

  • Things that may make the problem worse.

  • What can you do to help the problem?

Don’t just deal with it.  Put an end to it! Even if you do not have leaking of urine, you will benefit from this educational get together. These muscles span the base of the bony pelvis and are responsible for not only continence of urine and stool, but stability of the pelvis and spine. They are an integral part of your core that are often neglected. I’d love to teach you how to give this part of your body the attention it needs!

Squat University Seminar

Join us as we welcome Dr. Aaron Horschig on Saturday - May 6th, 2017 for the

Squat University Seminar!

The Squat University seminar is open to the public and to individuals all skill levels. The 4-hour seminar will be broken up into two segments. In the first section, we will discuss how to screen the body for movement problems. All attendees will walk through through simple tests designed to uncover and illuminate weak links in their body that can hinder their squat technique. Once highlighted, we will then go over specific corrective exercises designed to improve each problem area.

The next section of this seminar will cover barbell training basics. We will discuss how to perform the high-bar back squat, front squat, and the overhead squat. While athletes will be up and moving during this seminar, no one will be asked to squat to maximum or perform any movement that is out of their current capability. Our goal is to teach the finer points of technique so that you may learn to move well before you try to move larger weights.

Cost: $100 per person

“I wanted to reach out and say thank you! I was surprised how beneficial the information presented at the SquatU seminar was. Our members learned a lot about themselves. I still have members talking about it. I can also say that I learned a ton as well! I now coach differently and it has helped our gym tremendously.  I would highly recommend you to any organization that wants to learn more about the squat and how to teach it.”
